Members of Parliament have recommended overhauling the BBC's fee structure. They propose reducing expenses and extending funding to include areas beyond television. MPs also recommend scrapping the BBC's charter renewal and preventing the broadcaster from outbidding commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to solve the BBC's funding issues as it faces a important juncture. The recommendations come amid persistent talks about the broadcaster's future direction.
