CenterPoint Energy acknowledged that customers' personal details was exposed in a data breach. Class action suits were filed after the breach. The company said services remain operational and that customers' personal information was obtained.
In a separate matter, the FBI informed Springfield officials that a cyber attack on a school amounted to a data breach that could have revealed Social Security numbers. Student and staff data were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI delivered the alert to local authorities.
