The BC NDP leader is defending his use of the childcare subsidy scheme. Opponents say that his family exceeds the income limit for the subsidy. The leader explains that his wife stayed time off without pay for cancer treatment. This made them eligible for the financial assistance. He asserts his family donated the money back to the system. The goal was to support other families. While visiting an area in North Delta, he promised a new urgent care centre. He is calling for a new BC shipyard. He contrasted his vision to the Conservative candidate who wants tax cuts.
