Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, condemned Labour’s internal workings after his proposal to allow a debate on recognising Gaza did not pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly described his outburst at a conference as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a ice box, I don't give a sh*t."
The dispute followed failed attempts to push the party to declare events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed sharp splits within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
