FDNY fire marshals are looking into a possible blaze that needed three alarms. It burned through a blocks-long scrap yard in Staten Island. The site was at Rector Street and Castleton Avenue. Dramatic clips were posted online, showing flames and smoke rising high above the site.
In a separate event, a fire broke out at an autobody shop in Staten Island. Fire marshals have not said whether these two incidents are linked. No additional details have been released at this time.
