Italian football officials met with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola face to face to consider replacing Roberto Mancini as national team coach.

The meeting brought together technical staff with board members Paolo Maldini and Leonardo.

Despite continued English media speculation concerning a Premier League return, Guardiola apparently showed no personal desire for the role.

He previously indicated his reluctance to take on the job amidst reports of interest from Italy.

Currently, no decision has been made about the managerial position.
