A raccoon spotted in Seattle named Jimothy has taken the internet by storm for its unusually short spine. The trend really began after 21 July 2026. Reports in The New York Times and The Seattle Times ran features on it. Attention from across the pond also added to the noise, with FOX 13 Seattle asking if other raccoons share the name. Local artists and tattoo studios swiftly created Jimothy-inspired work. Tattoo designs and illustrations spread through the city. Comedy program The Daily Show also worked Jimothy in during its broadcast.
