Dame Judi Dench has publicly criticized Petco for alleged animal mistreatment. The actor, known for her fondness for parrots, accused the retailer of getting birds from breeders who kept them in cramped and filthy cages. Dench called for an end to selling birds at Petco, citing PETA's exposure of animal cruelty in breeding facilities. The criticism comes as Dench has been vocal about her admiration for parrots and the proper care of animals.
