Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli headed home on Wednesday. They concluded tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Around that same period, a large number of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa arrived back in Japan after missions related to the Iran situation. The Tripoli moored at its home port in Okinawa, ending its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force concluded joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit recovered a newborn seal pup that was abandoned.
