Red Lobster is shutting down 163 of its restaurants. The chain has been around for 58 years. This comes amid a bigger wave of closures hitting the industry right now.

Some spots are already confirmed. The Palm Desert, California store learned about it on a Monday. The Springfield outlet is also closing. The company has not released the complete list yet, and they haven't said when all the shutdowns will be done. The closures were reported on 30 August 2026. Customers across the country are affected.
