Russia has announced that its two-seat Su-57 jet will operate using combat artificial intelligence. Russia named this new twin-seat model the Su-57D. Engineers developed the plane to counter Western fifth-generation fighters. Nonetheless, the Russian fleet of Su-57 jets remains modest.

Meanwhile, a small European country currently flies twice as many fifth-generation fighters as Russia. The disparity in stealth jets exists despite Russian plans to add combat AI capabilities to the Su-57D. Simple Flying and MiGFlug detailed the modest fleet numbers together with the planned artificial intelligence features.
